"Other gods"

Here is a message
from the Word of God for the Western Church.
There is a lot of scripture quoted here
and if it seems like the Holy Spirit is repeating himself,
He is with good reason.
Exodus 20:3 "You
shall have no other gods before me.
Exodus 23:13 Take heed to all that I have said
to you; and make no mention of the names of other gods, nor let such be heard out
of your mouth.
Deuteronomy 6:14 You shall not go after other
gods, of the gods of the peoples who are round about you
Deuteronomy 7:4 For they would turn away your
sons from following me, to serve other gods; then the anger of the LORD would be
kindled against you, and he would destroy you quickly.
Deuteronomy 8:19 And if you forget the LORD
your God and go after other gods and serve them and worship them, I solemnly warn
you this day that you shall surely perish.
Deuteronomy 11:16 Take heed lest your heart
be deceived, and you turn aside and serve other gods and worship them
Deuteronomy 11:28 and the curse, if you do
not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside from the way which
I command you this day, to go after other gods which you have not known.
Deuteronomy 13:2 and the sign or wonder which
he tells you comes to pass, and if he says, 'Let us go after other gods,' which you
have not known, 'and let us serve them'
Deuteronomy 13:6 "If your brother, the
son of your mother, or your son, or your daughter, or the wife of your bosom, or
your friend who is as your own soul, entices you secretly, saying, 'Let us go and
serve other gods,' which neither you nor your fathers have known
Deuteronomy 13:13 that certain base fellows
have gone out among you and have drawn away the inhabitants of the city, saying,
'Let us go and serve other gods,' which you have not known
Deuteronomy 17:3 and has gone and served other
gods and worshiped them, or the sun or the moon or any of the host of heaven, which
I have forbidden
Deuteronomy 18:20 But the prophet who presumes
to speak a word in my name which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks
in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.'
Deuteronomy 28:14 and if you do not turn aside
from any of the words which I command you this day, to the right hand or to the left,
to go after other gods to serve them.
Deuteronomy 28:36 "The LORD will bring
you, and your king whom you set over you, to a nation that neither you nor your fathers
have known; and there you shall serve other gods, of wood and stone.
Deuteronomy 28:64 And the LORD will scatter
you among all peoples, from one end of the earth to the other; and there you shall
serve other gods, of wood and stone, which neither you nor your fathers have known.
Deuteronomy 29:26 and went and served other
gods and worshiped them, gods whom they had not known and whom he had not allotted
to them
Deuteronomy 30:17 But if your heart turns away,
and you will not hear, but are drawn away to worship other gods and serve them;
Deuteronomy 31:18 And I will surely hide my
face in that day on account of all the evil which they have done, because they have
turned to other gods.
Deuteronomy 31:20 For when I have brought them
into the land flowing with milk and honey, which I swore to give to their fathers,
and they have eaten and are full and grown fat, they will turn to other gods and
serve them, and despise me and break my covenant.
Joshua 23:16 if you transgress the covenant
of the LORD your God, which he commanded you, and go and serve other gods and bow
down to them. Then the anger of the LORD will be kindled against you, and you shall
perish quickly from off the good land which he has given to you."
Judges 2:12 and they forsook the LORD, the
God of their fathers, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt; they went after
other gods, from among the gods of the peoples who were round about them, and bowed
down to them; and they provoked the LORD to anger.
Judges 2:17 And yet they did not listen to
their judges; for they played the harlot after other gods and bowed down to them;
they soon turned aside from the way in which their fathers had walked, who had obeyed
the commandments of the LORD, and they did not do so.
Judges 2:19 But whenever the judge died, they
turned back and behaved worse than their fathers, going after other gods, serving
them and bowing down to them; they did not drop any of their practices or their stubborn
ways.
Judges 10:13 Yet you have forsaken me and served
other gods; therefore I will deliver you no more.
1 Samuel 8:8 According to all the deeds which
they have done to me, from the day I brought them up out of Egypt even to this day,
forsaking me and serving other gods, so they are also doing to you.
1 Samuel 26:19 Now therefore let my lord the
king hear the words of his servant. If it is the LORD who has stirred you up against
me, may he accept an offering; but if it is men, may they be cursed before the LORD,
for they have driven me out this day that I should have no share in the heritage
of the LORD, saying, 'Go, serve other gods.'
1 Kings 11:10 and had commanded him concerning
this thing, that he should not go after other gods; but he did not keep what the
LORD commanded.
1 Kings 14:9 but you have done evil above all
that were before you and have gone and made for yourself other gods, and molten images,
provoking me to anger, and have cast me behind your back
2 Kings 17:7 And this was so, because the people
of Israel had sinned against the LORD their God, who had brought them up out of the
land of Egypt from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other
gods
2 Kings 17:35 The LORD made a covenant with
them, and commanded them, "You shall not fear other gods or bow yourselves to
them or serve them or sacrifice to them
2 Kings 17:37 And the statutes and the ordinances
and the law and the commandment which he wrote for you, you shall always be careful
to do. You shall not fear other gods,
2 Kings 17:38 and you shall not forget the
covenant that I have made with you. You shall not fear other gods
2 Kings 22:17 Because they have forsaken me
and have burned incense to other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all
the work of their hands, therefore my wrath will be kindled against this place, and
it will not be quenched.
2 Chronicles 7:19 "But if you turn aside
and forsake my statutes and my commandments which I have set before you, and go and
serve other gods and worship them
2 Chronicles 7:22 Then
they will say, 'Because they forsook the LORD the God of their fathers who brought
them out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshiped them and
served them; therefore he has brought all this evil upon them'"
2 Chronicles 28:25 In every city of Judah he
made high places to burn incense to other gods, provoking to anger the LORD, the
God of his fathers.
2 Chronicles 34:25 Because they have forsaken
me and have burned incense to other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with
all the works of their hands, therefore my wrath will be poured out upon this place
and will not be quenched.
Jeremiah 1:16 And I will utter my judgments
against them, for all their wickedness in forsaking me; they have burned incense
to other gods, and worshiped the works of their own hands.
Jeremiah 7:6 if you do not oppress the alien,
the fatherless or the widow, or shed innocent blood in this place, and if you do
not go after other gods to your own hurt
Jeremiah 7:9 Will
you steal, murder, commit adultery, swear falsely, burn incense to Baal, and go after
other gods that you have not known
Jeremiah 7:18 The children gather wood, the
fathers kindle fire, and the women knead dough, to make cakes for the queen of heaven;
and they pour out drink offerings to other gods, to provoke me to anger.
Jeremiah 11:10 They
have turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, who refused to hear my words;
they have gone after other gods to serve them; the house of Israel and the house
of Judah have broken my covenant which I made with their fathers.
Jeremiah 13:10 This
evil people, who refuse to hear my words, who stubbornly follow their own heart and
have gone after other gods to serve them and worship them, shall be like this waistcloth,
which is good for nothing.
Jeremiah 16:11 then you shall say to them:
'Because your fathers have forsaken me, says the LORD, and have gone after other
gods and have served and worshiped them, and have forsaken me and have not kept my
law
Jeremiah 16:13 therefore I will hurl you out
of this land into a land which neither you nor your fathers have known, and there
you shall serve other gods day and night, for I will show you no favor.'
Jeremiah 19:4 Because the people have forsaken
me, and have profaned this place by burning incense in it to other gods whom neither
they nor their fathers nor the kings of Judah have known; and because they have filled
this place with the blood of innocents
Jeremiah 19:13 The houses of Jerusalem and
the houses of the kings of Judah--all the houses upon whose roofs incense has been
burned to all the host of heaven, and drink offerings have been poured out to other
gods--shall be defiled like the place of Topheth.'"
Jeremiah 22:9 And they will answer, "Because
they forsook the covenant of the LORD their God, and worshiped other gods and served
them."'"
Jeremiah 25:6 do not go after other gods to
serve and worship them, or provoke me to anger with the work of your hands. Then
I will do you no harm.'
Jeremiah 32:29 The Chaldeans who are fighting
against this city shall come and set this city on fire, and burn it, with the houses
on whose roofs incense has been offered to Baal and drink offerings have been poured
out to other gods, to provoke me to anger.
Jeremiah 35:15 I have sent to you all my servants
the prophets, sending them persistently, saying, 'Turn now every one of you from
his evil way, and amend your doings, and do not go after other gods to serve them,
and then you shall dwell in the land which I gave to you and your fathers.' But you
did not incline your ear or listen to me.
Jeremiah 44:3 because of the wickedness which
they committed, provoking me to anger, in that they went to burn incense and serve
other gods that they knew not, neither they, nor you, nor your fathers.
Jeremiah 44:5 But they did not listen or incline
their ear, to turn from their wickedness and burn no incense to other gods.
Jeremiah 44:8 Why do you provoke me to anger
with the works of your hands, burning incense to other gods in the land of Egypt
where you have come to live, that you may be cut off and become a curse and a taunt
among all the nations of the earth?
Jeremiah 44:15 Then all the men who knew that
their wives had offered incense to other gods, and all the women who stood by, a
great assembly, all the people who dwelt in Pathros in the land of Egypt, answered
Jeremiah
Hosea 3:1 And the LORD said to me, "Go
again, love a woman who is beloved of a paramour and is an adulteress; even as the
LORD loves the people of Israel, though they turn to other gods and love cakes of
raisins."
Search your land and see if we are a nation that now serves other gods. Remember,
too that God is the same, yesterday, today, and forever. I count the phrase other
gods 56 times. Do you think perhaps the Living God is trying to make a point with
this?
Nations who went after other gods were given their heart's desire - along with military
invasion, slavery, prostitution, pornography, suicide, wanton murder, child sacrifice
(abortion) and every conceivable filthy art of darkness. Hummm… that reads like an
American newspapers' front page.
The church in America (and many other western nations) has gone "whoring"
after other gods as well preaching ease, comfort, unending wealth (and I believe
in God's prosperity) and what Jesus can do for you! And I fear that as we have lusted
for other gods, we shall inherit them, and every bondage they bring. The Land of
the Free is a prisoner of sin!
We have polluted our pulpits, our land, and we have called evil good and good evil.
Call out to God and repent before we too are consumed by our own desires for other
gods. The Living God is merciful and longsuffering, not willing that any should perish.
The other gods we lust for are in reality wrath-filled demons who will show no mercy.
Shall we love the One God, or the many gods?
Wake up America. Judgment for idolatry is already knocking at the door.
