God Has Done Nothing Wrong!

"Our soul is exceedingly filled... with the contempt of the proud...
Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God?"

(Psalm 123:4; Romans 9:20).

by Katie Stewart

Preface

I
n point of fact, it is only God that has done all things well! "Thou art Good, and doest good; teach me Thy Statutes" (Psalm 119:68). Even more, "There is none good but One, that is, God" (Mark 10:18). Many times have I heard this blasphemous accusation, that, "God has a lot to answer for!" "What is man" (Psalm 8:4) to point a finger at God? How can any man blame "the Only Wise God our Saviour" (Jude 25) for the awful mess that man, himself, has made of his own life and world? "God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good" (Genesis 1:31). "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap" (Galatians 6:7). From what poisoned well does a man draw from to make such a culpable fabrication? It comes forth from the heart of a man, "for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh" (Matthew 12:34). The heart of man "is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked" (Jeremiah 17:9). When men refuse to accept responsibility for their sin, the folly of their pride condemns God for the outcome. "Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud"(Psalm 123:4).

Who is Man?

W
e are created beings, for the "LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul" (Genesis 2:7). For the time we have on this Earth, He made us "a little lower than the angels" (Psalm 8:5). We were given "dominion over the works of [God's] hands; [and God] hast put all things under [our] feet" (8:6). But man usually forgets that these gifts of life and dominion are "from Above, and cometh down from the Father of Lights" (James 1:17). We have no virtue in, nor of, our own selves, for "we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf" (Isaiah 64:6). All good is from Him, for "there is none good but One, that is, God" (Mark 10:18). Therefore, who do we think we are when we accuse Him in such a manner: "God has a lot to answer for!"? Obviously, the unrepentant caught saying this must think themselves to be God! To them, as to their demon father, shall their lot be all the same. "13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into Heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God... 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the Most High. 15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to Hell, to the sides of The Pit. 16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the Earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms" (Isaiah 14:13-16).

And so, man, who was originally
"created... in the Image of God" (Genesis 1:27), instead of choosing to grow in the LORD by being increasingly "changed into the Same Image from Glory to Glory, even as by the Spirit of the LORD" (2Corinthians 3:18), mocks God by thinking themselves greater than God. "21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools" (Romans 1:21-22). Everything that man receives from God becomes perverted as man claims authorship of his own divinity. "Who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?" (1Corinthians 4:7). As man conceitedly proclaims, "If there is a God, He has a lot to answer for! I could do better than Him!," they inadvertantly prove that the Scripture is correct, because "folly is joy to him that is destitute of Wisdom" (Proverbs 15:21). Who does rebelling man think he is? He thinks he is God!

"15 Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and Who knoweth us? 16 Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter's clay: for shall the work say of Him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of Him that framed it, He had no Understanding?... 45:9 Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker!" (Isaiah 29:15-16; 45:9).

A meek man doesn't want to be God. "Who is a wise man and endued with Knowledge among you? let him show out of a good conversation his works with meekness of Wisdom" (James 3:13). A meek man does not defend himself. His goal in life is to defend God. "Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the Earth" (Numbers 12:3). And, when a man will "draw nigh to God", God "will draw nigh to [man]. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded" (James 4:8), for the LORD is "Good, and Ready To Forgive; and Plenteous In Mercy unto all them that call upon [Him]" (Psalm 86:5). To stand in defense of God-- not self-- is true humility. "The meek also shall increase their Joy in the LORD" (Isaiah 29:19). "The LORD taketh pleasure in His people: He will beautify the meek with Salvation" (Psalm 149:4).

Who is God?

There is one thing that the righteous definitely know about God, and that is, thankfully, that
"God is NOT A MAN, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent" (Numbers 23:19). Hallelujah! For, IF the LORD acts in the same way that man does, then God would treat us in the same unjust way that we treat Him! For instance,

IF God acted as a man, then God would lie to us!

"The serpent [Satan] was more subtle than any beast... and he said...Yea, hath God said...?" (Genesis 3:1).

IF God acted as a man, then God would falsely accuse us!

"The accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night" (Revelation 12:10).

IF God acted as a man, then God would deny we exist!

"The LORD turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the Word of the LORD, how He had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny Me thrice" (Luke 22:61). "He turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan" (Matthew 16:23).

And IF God acted as Satan does, then God would treat us in the same exact way that Satan treats us!

"27 And when He went forth to land, there met Him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs... 29 For oftentimes [the unclean spirits] had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.) 30 And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him. 31 And they besought Him that He would not command them to go out into the deep. 32 And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought Him that He would suffer them to enter into them. And He suffered them. 33 Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked. 34 When they that fed them saw what was done, they fled, and went and told it in the city and in the country. 35 Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind" (Luke 8:27, 29-35).

But, hallelujah, "God is not a man, that He should lie" (Numbers 23:19)! And, God is not Satan, "a liar, and the father of it" (John 8:44)!

The above is Who God is NOT. We hereby acknowledge Who God is, for...

1. if God acted as God, then God would create us. "And God said, Let Us [the Godhead, i.e., the Trinity] make man" (Genesis 1:26).

2. if God acted as God, then God would give Himself as the Perfect "Image" to be patterned after. "So God created man in His Own Image, in the Image of God created He him" (Genesis 1:27).

3. if God acted as God, then God would love us and give us His Son. "But God commendeth His Love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8).

4. God would want us to share His Home for Eternity. Jesus said, "In My Father's House are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you" (John 14:2).

5. God would give us a beautiful Universe to live in until we reached Heaven. "Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear" (Hebrews 11:3).

6. God would give us "dominion" over our planet. "And God said... Let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the Earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the Earth" (Genesis 1:26).

7. God would give us "victory" in our lives and families. "But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our LORD Jesus Christ" (1Corinthians 15:57).

8. God would give us "a way to escape". "God is Faithful, Who will not suffer you to be tempted [literally, tested] above that ye are able; but will with the temptation [literally, test] also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it" (1Corinthians 10:13).

9. God would give us His Divine Help. "Let us therefore come boldly unto the Throne of Grace, that we may obtain Mercy, and find Grace to help in time of need" (Hebrews 4:16).

10. God would give us His Divine Wealth (the Wealth that money can't buy). "22 But the fruit of the Spirit is Love, Joy, Peace, Longsuffering, Gentleness, Goodness, Faith, 23 Meekness, Temperance" (Galatians 5:22).

11. God would give us His Divine Self to live within us. "And he that keepeth His Commandments dwelleth in Him, and He in him. And hereby we know that He abideth in us, by the Spirit which He hath given us" (1John 3:24).

12. God would comfort us. "16 Now our LORD Jesus Christ Himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us Everlasting Consolation and Good Hope through Grace, 17 comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work" (2Thessalonians 2:16-17).

13. God would guide us. "The Spirit of Truth... will guide you into all Truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will show you things to come" (John 16:13).

14. God would provide for us. "He that believeth on Me, as the Scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of Living Water" (John 7:38).

15. God would never leave us. "For He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee" (Hebrews 13:5).

"O taste and see that the LORD is Good: blessed is the man that trusteth in Him" (Psalm 34:8). I could go on endlessly, for "Great is our LORD, and of great Power: His Understanding is Infinite" (Psalm 147:5).

The Rights of God

It is the Divine Right of the Divine Potter to do whatever He deems best and good with the clay.
"O LORD, Thou art our Father; we are the clay, and Thou our Potter; and we all are the work of Thy hand" (Isaiah 64:8). It is the right of the Creator to create. "20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to Him that formed it, Why hast Thou made me thus?... 22 What if God, willing to show His wrath, and to make His Power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: 23 and that He might make known the riches of His Glory on the vessels of Mercy, which He had afore prepared unto Glory" (Romans 9:20,22-23). The Bible justifies the Rights and Privileges of God. "O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in Mine hand, O house of Israel" (Jeremiah 18:6). If only men would turn to the Scripture, "that they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the LORD hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it" (Isaiah 41:20). The true child of God recognizes God as God, and bows to the Power of the Potter. "And the children of Israel said unto the LORD, We have sinned: do Thou unto us whatsoever seemeth good unto Thee; deliver us only, we pray Thee, this day" (Judges 10:15). To the Israelites, it was written, that it was God "Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that He might humble thee, and that He might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end" (Deuteronomy 8:16). His Will fulfills His Purpose. His Motives are the Highest. "4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; Charity envieth not; Charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up... 8 Charity never faileth... 13 And now abideth Faith, Hope, Charity, these three; but the greatest of these is Charity" (1Corinthians 13:4,8,13). "Charity" is a KJV way of saying "Love". The most inner essence of God, His heart core, is "Love". "God is Love" (1John 4:8).

The righteous know that
"the Ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein" (Hosea 14:9). And though the wicked refuse to acknowledge God's Attributes and Divine Rights, it IS by the Omniscience of the Almighty God that He DOES foreknow the wicked who will be wicked, by their own choice, and He DOES allow them that choice, as He justly does, equally, to all men. "The LORD is known by the Judgment which He executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands" (Psalm 9:16).

Foreknowing the men who would choose to be evil, even over these men the Unarbitrary But Sovereign Potter has
"power over the clay" (Romans 9:21). "17 For the Scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might show My Power in thee, and that My Name might be declared throughout all the Earth. 18 Therefore hath He Mercy on whom He will have Mercy, and whom He will He hardeneth" (Romans 9:17-18). After all of life is said and done, if wicked men are self-determined to be wicked, is it not a Supremely Wise God Who would make use of even these men? "Surely the wrath of man shall praise Thee" (Psalm 76:10). "The LORD hath made all things for Himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil" (Proverbs 16:4). God did His Very Best for even these eternally damned ones, "for God so loved the world, that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have Everlasting Life" (John 3:16). The wicked in Hell will not change. "Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron" (1Timothy 4:2). "Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the LORD" (Jeremiah 6:15). Their course was self-determined. "They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness" (Psalm 82:5). They began life with a freewill and they were created in the Image of God. They were given the Son of God. Yet, "they know not the Thoughts of the LORD, neither understand they His Counsel" (Micah 4:12). They began with The Best beginning. "They are without excuse" (Romans 1:20).

God Always Wins

It is God's Divine Right to win.
"I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the LORD GOD Omnipotent reigneth" (Revelation 19:6). It may seem as if the LORD is letting the wicked win, for the moment, and that God "dealeth with a slack hand" (Proverbs 10:4). But, no. Wisdom waits for "due season" (Psalm 104:27). The Omnipotent One "repayeth them that hate Him to their face, to destroy them: He will not be slack to him that hateth Him, He will repay him to his face" (Deuteronomy 7:10). "Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered: let them also that hate Him flee before Him" (Psalm 68:1). But, there is no escape for the enemy of God. "Thine hand shall find out all Thine enemies: Thy right hand shall find out those that hate Thee" (Psalm 21:8). Our God ALWAYS WINS! "The LORD shall go forth as a Mighty Man, He shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: He shall cry, yea, roar; He shall prevail against His enemies" (Isaiah 42:13).

It is the Divine Right of God's people to win. "3 Mine enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at Thy presence. 4 For Thou hast maintained my right and my cause; Thou satest in the Throne judging Right" (Psalm 9:3-4). And our victories are the LORD's victories, for "Thou hast rebuked the heathen, Thou hast destroyed the wicked, Thou hast put out their name for ever and ever" (9:5). "For the LORD is Good; His Mercy is Everlasting; and His Truth endureth to all generations" (Psalm 100:5). He teaches us His Truth and it works His Goodness in us. "Do Good, O LORD, unto those that be good, and to them that are upright in their hearts" (Psalm 125:4). "Blessed art Thou, O LORD: teach me Thy Statutes" (Psalm 119:12). And, in turn, our victories are His, for "Thou hast caused me to hope" (Psalm 119:49). "Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our LORD Jesus Christ" (1Corinthians 15:57).

Conclusion

God has done nothing wrong! Absolutely ALL that the LORD advances and allows is for the best purposes and highest motives for everyone on Earth and in the Kingdom of Heaven.
"Thy Will be done in Earth, as it is in Heaven" (Matthew 6:10). And, because the wicked choose wickedness, Hell is the Very Best thing that God can do for them, for, even from their eternal, fiery grave, God reminds all beings-- righteous and wicked-- of the Eternal Value of His Eternal Living Law. "Heaven and Earth shall pass away, but My Words shall not pass away" (Matthew 24:35). "Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the Earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the Earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but My Salvation shall be for ever, and My Righteousness shall not be abolished" (Isaiah 51:6).
