• Deut. 4:9 "Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons' sons."

By all means, read the Book of Proverbs. Obey every verse, and claim every Promise. The whole book is written to "My son..." For every command you obey there is a Promise for success or reward. For example:

• Prov. 1:8,9 "My son, hear the Instruction of thy father, and forsake not the Law of thy mother: 9 For They shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck."

• Prov. 2:1-20 "My son, if thou wilt receive My Words, and hide My Commandments with thee; 2 So that thou incline thine ear unto Wisdom, and apply thine heart to Understanding; 3 Yea, if thou criest after Knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for Understanding; 4 If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; 5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the Knowledge of God. 6 For the LORD giveth Wisdom: out of His mouth cometh Knowledge and Understanding. 7 He layeth up sound Wisdom for the righteous: He is a Buckler to them that walk uprightly. 8 He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of His saints. 9 Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path. 10 When Wisdom entereth into thine heart, and Knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; 11 Discretion shall preserve thee, Understanding shall keep thee: 12 To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things; 16 To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words; 17 Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the Covenant of her God. 18 For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead. 19 None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of Life. 20 That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous."

• Prov. 3:1,2 "My son, forget not My Law; but let thine heart keep My Commandments: 2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall They add to thee."
  
  
• Prov. 3:3,4 "Let not mercy and Truth forsake thee: bind Them about thy neck; write Them upon the table of thine heart: 4 So shalt thou find favour and good Understanding in the sight of God and man."
  
  
• Prov. 3:5,6 "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths."
  
  
• Prov. 3:7,8 "Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. 8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones."
  
  
• Prov. 3:12 "For whom the LORD loveth He correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth."

Laodicean doctrine often directs young Christian parents to believe that small children are not held accountable to God for their sins until they are quite old- between the ages of eight and twelve. This lie of Satan can leave our most cherished responsibilities, our own children, unguarded and open to the whims of the enemy. The Scriptures reveal God's thoughts on the "nurture and admonition" of very small children.
